Pettis County man found safe after silver advisory issued

UPDATE: Perkins was found safe in St. Louis.

ORIGINAL: The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office issued an endangered silver advisory for a missing man with dementia and Alzheimer’s Tuesday night.

The disappearance happened in the 24000 block of Oak Grove Lane in Sedalia around 5:10 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Wiley Daniel Perkins, 84, told his caretaker he wanted to visit an unknown city in North Carolina. The caretaker left the room and later returned to find Perkins and his vehicle were gone.

Perkins is described as a white man that stand at five feet, ten inches tall. He weighs 150 pounds, has gray hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion.

He was last seen wearing glasses, a tan ball cap, blue plaid short-sleeved shirt, and blue Dickey style pants.

The vehicle is a black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado with a black camper shell. The Missouri license plate reads 2KN201.
