Moberly man arrested after violating ex parte, fleeing scene

A Moberly man was arrested on Sunday after violating an ex parte and fleeing from officers.

Michael Butler, 24, of Moberly, went to the home of a woman who had a protection order against him. He banged on her side door and got it halfway open. Butler took her phone away and started going through it. When the woman tried to get her phone back, Butler hit her in the head and the hand. She eventually got the door closed and locked, when Butler smashed her phone.

Butler was seen driving away from the home in a blue SUV.

Officers stopped the blue SUV and identified Butler as the driver. Butler smelled strongly of marijuana and was behaving nervously in front of the officers. He took off driving, but was eventually caught by officers.

Officers found marijuana on Butler after they searched him.
