Warm Tuesday, storms move in Wednesday

TONIGHT: It will be mostly clear and mild with low temperatures near 60 and a light southwest breeze under 8 mph.

TUESDAY: It will feel more like summer with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. We’ll have a southwesterly wind at 8-15 mph.

EXTENDED: We will still be warm Wednesday with high temperatures near 80 and a chance of t-storms by afternoon as a cold front in northern Missouri slowly drifts to the south. The best chance in the afternoon is north of I-70 but by evening, storms will build farther south. Wednesday afternoon and evening there is a Marginal Risk for severe weather. The threat is low, but a few storms could have damaging wind and large hail. As we move into Thursday, showers are likely as the front stalls near I-70 before moving south Thursday night. Rain amounts look to range from 0.50″ in northeast Mid-Missouri to up to 1.50″ in southwest Mid-Missouri. Rain will likely move out by early Friday morning near I-44, leaving us dry as we head into the weekend. High temperatures will stay near 70 Thursday and Friday, warming into the mid to upper 70s this weekend.
