Camdenton Board of Aldermen approves pay raises for city workers
CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
The city of Camdenton will soon increase wages for its employees.
The Camdenton Board of Aldermen approved the midyear pay raises at its meeting on Tuesday, according to a news release. City employees should expect to see the pay bumps starting March 1.
A spokesperson said all city workers will get raises, but the larger per-hour increases were given to lower-paid employees. According to Camdenton, the hourly starting pay for a Labor 1 position has increased by $2 an hour over the past five months.
The spokesperson said Camdenton needed the wage increases to compete in hiring and employee retention and to compensate for rising inflation.
