Man in three-county car chase arrested in Washington County

The Maries County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that the man who led authorities on a high-speed chase in Maries, Cole and Osage counties on April 18, was arrested in Washington County on Friday.

Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman said Billy Place, 27, was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants, including the warrants related to the pursuit that ended in Meta.

Place was also wanted for questioning in connection with burglaries and thefts in Iron County.

Place was booked into the Department of Corrections for violating parole.
