Indictment says St. Louis lawyer faked legal documents

ST. LOUIS

Federal prosecutors accuse a St. Louis lawyer of faking legal documents in court cases for more than a year. Andrew Gavin Wynne’s law license was suspended in October and he was indicted last week by a federal grand jury on five counts of identity theft. The indictment says Wynne created fake documents in cases in St. Louis, and in St. Louis and St. Charles counties. He is accused of creating fictitious court orders, judgments, and emails claiming to be sent by judges. Many of the cases were in family court or divorces. Wynne’s former law firm said cases in four judicial circuits were affected but did not have a specific number.
