Forcible rape conviction upheld in Adkison case

A Columbia man’s conviction for forcible rape has been upheld by the Western District Court of Appeals on Tuesday after multiple mistrials.

Brian Adkison was sentenced to 15 years in prison for forcible rape in 2015. He filed an appeal for the charge in April of this year.

Adkison was charged in 2013 for raping his ex-girlfriend. Adkison already had three prior mistrials: one mistrial in Boone County for the rape and sexual-assault charges, and two in Chillicothe, Missouri for kidnapping and domestic-abuse charges.
