Timing storms & severe threats Tue night- Wed

Showers and t-storms will start to develop along and west of HWY 63 as early as 9 PM and would be spotty at first before a line of storms moves in from the west. This main line is expected to be near HWY 65 by 11 PM and shift to the east overnight. Severe storms are possible with the best chance west of HWY 63 with a lower threat farther east. Large hail and damaging wind are the main threats overnight.

The slow moving cold front will move east through Wednesday, giving us a chance of storms from mid-morning through the late afternoon. The chance of severe storms increases in areas along and south of HWY 54 where storms with damaging wind, large hail or a tornado are possible. Rainfall amounts up to 3 inches from Tuesday night through Wednesday are possible along I-44 with lower amounts to 1.50″ near I-70 and closer to a half inch north to HWY 36. Temperatures will slowly fall through the day as the cold front moves through from west to east from the 60s into the 50s by evening as winds shift to the northwest.
