QUESTION OF THE DAY: Should the attorney general continue his lawsuit against CPS?
A lawyer for the Missouri Attorney General's Office said Thursday that the state will not drop a lawsuit against Columbia Public Schools now that the district's mask mandate has expired.
The state and CPS were in court Thursday to argue over a temporary restraining order which became moot after CPS said it was ending its mandate. However, the attorney general's office wants to take the case to trial to prevent CPS from instituting another mandate.
The omicron wave is subsiding and case levels have dropped precipitously, so it's unclear whether CPS would mandate masks again.
