Man charged with murder in Illinois found in Cole County

A man charged with first-degree murder in St. Clair County, Illinois was arrested in Cole County.

Chontez Graham was first taken into custody on local drug charges in late March, but on Thursday, he was charged for being an out of state fugitive.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Graham was accused of shooting and killing a man and a pregnant woman in a car. A toddler was in the vehicle, but survived.

The crime happened on Sept. 4 near East St. Louis, but the 21-year-old wasn’t charged until March 31.

The charges stemming from the deadly shooting include two counts of first-degree murder, intentional homicide of an unborn child, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
