Lipp family reaches settlement in son’s wrongful death lawsuit

A settlement was reached on April 7, 2017 for the wrongful death lawsuit of Jack Lipp.

Lipp was a freshman at the University of Missouri who attended a “stop day” party on Dec. 12, 2014 where he was found underneath the balcony unconscious.

Lipp was diagnosed with a severe traumatic brain injury and also had injuries that could’ve been from a fight. Lipp passed away from his injuries on Dec. 25, 2014.

No arrests were made after the Columbia Police Department investigated the incident.

The settlement resulted in $5,000,000 to the Lipp family.
