QUESTION OF THE DAY: Should Columbia Public Schools keep its mask mandate in place?

Columbia Public Schools said Friday that it will keep its mask mandate in place for at least another week while administrators evaluate the coronavirus situation locally.

The mandate is a controversial one. The district has been under political pressure and has become the object of some parents' ire for its mask rule. But many parents support keeping the requirement in place because case levels remain high, even though the omicron peak appears to have passed.
