Summer-like Sunday with storm chance late tonight

TODAY: Aside from high winds, Sunday is going to be another warm day with the high reaching into the lower 80s. Winds will pick us as early as the morning hours with sustained winds around 16 mph with gusts near 30 mph out of the south. We will see some sunshine today as clouds gradually full in our skies leading up to the chance for storms by late tonight. The only areas under the Marginal Risk for severe weather are the western regions of Chariton, Pettis, and Saline counties. The main threats are stronger isolated thunderstorms that can produce hail and damaging wind gusts. Temperatures will remain mild in the lower 70s and upper 60s by this evening.

MONDAY: With temperatures mild in the upper 50s, most of Mid-Missouri will be waking up to dry conditions as the cold front pushes off to the east. SE Missouri will be seeing a better chance for rain Monday, but by the afternoon hours areas north of I-44 will see sunny skies with the high reaching to the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: Tuesday and much of Wednesday next week will be sunny and dry with temperatures in the mid 60s and lower 70s . More rain and thunderstorms are possible by Wednesday night extending into next weekend. Temperatures from Thursday into Saturday will remain warm in the upper 60s and lower 70s with the lows staying mild in the 50s.
