Tracking bitter cold before a warmup to near freezing this weekend
FRIDAY NIGHT
Stuck in the 20's today, mostly clear skies will drop us again back near zero by early Saturday. Not helping matters is a weak wind shift introducing us to a northerly breeze and ushering arctic high pressure by day break. Cold will be dangerous.
SATURDAY
With high pressure in place, we start clear and bitterly cold. Sunshine and more southerly wind will climb us back to near freezing, where temperatures will stall. Despite warming very quickly, temps and winds will combine for wind chill values in the teens to low 20's at best.
EXTENDED
Highs will step up into the upper 30’s Sunday before a cold front slides through. This one will only bring brief cloud cover Sunday night and slightly cooler weather for Monday, knocking temperatures back into the lower 30’s. We rebound nicely Tuesday, jumping back into the middle 40’s, where we stay through Thursday.
