It released the below statement in response to the student’s death:

“Hallsville School District is saddened to learn of the death of one of our middle school students. We have been in contact with the family and extend our deepest sympathies.

As our Hallsville family grieves today, the district counseling team and the Boone County Schools Mental Health Coalition are on campus offer(ing) extra support to faculty, staff, and students. We also encourage parents to speak with children about addressing grief and have made resources available on our website.”
