Power outage impacting more than 1,500 Columbia Water and Light customers restored

UPDATE 3:54am: It appears all service is now restored.

ABC 17 News spoke to a spokesperson for Columbia Water and Light who says tree limbs that fell on power lines is to blame for the outage. The spokesperson did not have an estimate for repairs, but the outage is no longer listed on the providers outage map.

ORIGINAL: More than 1,500 Columbia Water and Light customers were without power Wednesday morning after strong storms moved through the area.

ABC 17 News checked Water and Light’s outage map Wednesday morning and found the outage impacting customers in the southern part of the city.

As of 3:00am Wednesday, Water and Light was reporting 1,588 customers without power.

ABC 17 News is working to find out what caused the outage and when service will be restored. We’ll have a live report from the impacted area on ABC 17 News This Morning from 5:00-7:00am.
