Court issued three restraining orders against Columbia murder suspect

A court in southern Missouri issued three restraining orders against a man charged with murder in Columbia.

Police said suspect Jeremiah Lynne, 23, ran away from a deadly crash in central Columbia on Saturday. Lynne’s passenger, Skyler Littleton and her unborn child died in the crash at Ash Street and Garth Avenue, while police caught Lynne running away from the scene.

Court records from Ozark County, an area at the Arkansas border, show three protection orders against Lynne, one of them involving children. A judge granted all three with the two adult orders lasting until September 2017.

The petitions, filed in 2016, come from Lynne’s wife and mother-in-law in Gainesville, Mo., and represent his wife’s two children. The petition cited Lynne’s “emotional abuse on the child,” detailing instances he tried to take the two children in the early morning hours. Lynne would curse around and at the children, one petition reads.

Lynne’s wife claimed in her petition that her husband frequently abused her, chasing and threatening her on several occasions. The petition from Lynne’s mother-in-law claims he threatened to shoot her in July in a voicemail.

“[Lynne] has caused fear, emotional trauma, [and] anxiety for my entire family,” the petition said.

Judge Cynthia MacPherson granted all three petitions in August and September. Lynne did not attend the September court hearing related to the restraining orders from his wife and children.

ABC 17 News detailed some of Lynne’s recent Boone County criminal history on Monday. That includes resisting arrest as well as police finding a pipe with meth residue in it back in December.
