Police respond to West Worley apartment for the third time in four months
UPDATE: Charles Hayes has been charged with armed criminal action and robbery in the first degree in connection to an armed robbery earlier this month on Morning Glory drive. The armed robbery occurred less than a half of a mile away from last weekend’s triple shooting that left two people dead.
UPDATE: A man is in the Boone County Jail that has the same address as the apartment complex police responded to earlier Friday morning.
Charles Hayes was arrested on suspicion of Kidnapping, Burglary and Armed Criminal Action.
Hayes does have a criminal past with possession of drugs, domestic assault, and armed criminal action. He was sentenced to prison twice for four years as well as six years.
ABC17 has asked police if Hayes was connected to the search warrant and police said they should be writing something up shortly.
ORIGINAL: Police responded to the 300 block of West Worley around 3:30 on Friday morning.
ABC17 crews talked with officers on scene, but they did not say much. They said they served a search warrant, but could not say if anyone was arrested or they found anything.
This is the third time ABC17 has heard of a law enforcement presence at the apartment within the span of four months.
In November officers responded to a shooting at the complex.
And in December, five people were detained after SWAT and narcotics team raided the apartment complex.
Police said they were looking for weapons and drugs, but they never said what they found.
ABC 17 News will follow up with police today to find out what led up to the search warrant and if anyone was arrested. We’ll update this story as we learn more.
