Human remains found in Gasconade County pond identified

Human remains found in Gasconade County last week have now been identified.

The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday the remains found by divers in a clay pit pond last week were positively identified as James Holt Jr., 60, of Florissant.

The pond is at an address on Dragster Drive in Owensville.

Holt was reported missing on Tuesday, as well as being sought for questioning by investigators related to other human remains found in the clay pit last week.

Investigators are awaiting autopsy reports.
