Rain arrives through Sunday evening
TONIGHT: After what has been a relatively quiet day, rain will once again track into Mid-Missouri later tonight. Ahead of the rain, overcast skies will be a big driver in keeping us on the mild side tonight, as temperatures bottom out in the upper 40s and lower 50s. The rain is set to arrive in extreme southwestern portions of Mid-Missouri after 10 PM and gradually track to the northeast. Ahead of the rain, patchy fog is likely to occur, with light winds out of the northeast under 10 mph.
MONDAY: You’ll need that umbrella for the morning commute, as rain will be widespread early tomorrow morning. Rain looks to approach the I-70 corridor by around 4AM, with rain heavy at times. No severe weather is expected, but a few rumbles of thunder can’t be ruled out. Additional accumulation up to an inch is possible, with heavier amounts south of I-70. Areas north of I-70 will likely see .50″ and less. Rain will exit by late afternoon, with a break in precipitation until Wednesday. Despite the rain, temperatures will be seasonal in the upper 50s and lower 60s, with winds out of the north under 10 mph.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will remain seasonal with highs in the 60s and lows in the upper 40s for the entire week. The active weather will continue into the second part of the week. The next round of rainy weather is possible starting Wednesday and continuing through Thursday as the next system moves in. Rainfall totals by the end of the week could help improve drought conditions here in mid-Missouri.
