UPDATE: Two dead, one injured in triple shooting
UPDATE, 6:15 p.m.: Columbia police have confirmed a second victim from Sunday’s triple shooting.
Police said Jeffery Jones, 26, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin died on the scene. Michael Walker Jr., 32, from Columbia died from injuries at the hospital.
There are no updates on the third victim’s condition.
UPDATE, 2:45 p.m.: Columbia police confirm at least one person is dead after a shooting in northwest Columbia. According to officers, at least two other people were seriously hurt.
Police told ABC 17 News at the scene that the forensic unit is on its way to investigate. Officers weren’t sure if they would bring in police dogs.
Police said it was the only scene they were investigating.
ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police are on the scene of a shooting in the northwest part of the city that has sent multiple people to the hospital.
ABC 17 crews on the scene say there is a heavy law enforcement presence on I-70 Drive NW, near Garden Drive, just west of Stadium. Police are working the scene that includes multiple shell casings and an SUV with damage to its windows.
Multiple ambulances were called to the scene and a reporter said they left for the hospital within the last 30 minutes.
Police briefly shut down the area of Garden Drive near I-70 Drive NW during the incident.
