LU president discusses departure from college
Lincoln University president Dr. Kevin Rome announced yesterday he would be leaving his position after four years and filling the same position at Fisk University in Nashville.
“It was an extremely difficult decision for me and my family because there are so many great things here and I believe the school (Lincoln University) is going in the right direction,” said Rome.
Fisk is ranked 8th among the nation’s historically black colleges/universities, according to U.S. News and World Report.
“It’s a unique opportunity to lead such an elite university,” said Rome. “It was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.”
Rome will officially step down from his position at Lincoln on June 30 and begin work at Fisk July 1.
