Pleasant and Breezy Thursday Afternoon
TODAY: Temperatures this afternoon are still on the cool side under mostly cloudy skies. However, a warm front currently drifting north will bring an end to the clouds by late afternoon. Thanks to some late day sunshine, we’ll see temperatures climb into the upper 60s today, with breezy conditions. Sustained winds will be from the southeast of 10-18 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.
TONIGHT: It looks quiet tonight with skies clearing briefly. Heaters will be able to be given a break tonight. It will be mild, with overnight lows in the upper 50s/low 60s with southeasterly winds under 20 mph.
EXTENDED: Our next chance of storms arrive Friday afternoon, when a line of showers and t-storms moves in. The newest timing puts storms in west Mid-Missouri near HWY 65 between 1PM and 3PM and US 63 starting between 2PM and 4PM. Storms look to be tracking east through midnight Friday night, ending east of HWY 54 at this time. Heavy rain is possible with this line through Friday night where 1″ to 1.25″ of rain looks possible for most locations. A marginal risk of severe weather is likely, with damaging winds and hail being the main threat. Showers look to continue on and off on Saturday, while severe weather is not expected. Highs will reach the mid 60s Saturday and lower 60s Sunday. Sunday will be mainly dry but more rain is expected late Sunday evening and overnight as another storm system approaches by next Monday.
