Alli seeks fresh start at Everton after fall from grace

It was telling that the only Tottenham manager referenced by name in Dele Alli’s parting note to the London club was Mauricio Pochettino. Alli played under four managers in his seven years at Spurs but virtually all of his standout moments came under Pochettino. The Argentine’s time at Tottenham ended in November 2019 and so, in a sense, did Alli’s. The 25-year-old midfielder joined Everton in one of the headline transfers on deadline day in Europe’s winter transfer window. He’s looking to get his career back on track. Alli was a key player in England’s run to the World Cup semifinals in 2018 and had great scoring numbers before the age of 21.
