Two pedestrians hit on Route Z, suffer moderate injuries

UPDATE 12:26 P.M.: ABC 17 has confirmed that Penrod is in good condition and Todd was treated and released.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle after walking into the north outer road of I-70, 1900 feet East of Route Z.

Daniel Penrod, 20, and Tyler Todd, 19, both of West Carrollton, Ohio, were walking with traffic on the north outer road of I-70 by Route Z when they were struck by a 2006 Nissan Sentra, driven by 71-year-old Warren Taylor of Columbia.

Penrod and Todd were accompanied by another subject who was not hit by the vehicle. Both of the men were taken to University Hospital with moderate injuries.
