Building destroyed in Holts Summit fire, no one hurt

Firefighters with the Holts Summit Fire Protection District were called to a structure fire in the 2000 block of Timber Lake Drive off Neiman Road Sunday morning.

Firefighters found the multi-use residential building fully involved when they arrived. Scott Pasley, the public information officer for the Holts Summit Fire Protection District, said the property owner was inside at the time of the fire, but was able to make it out safely.

Pasley said the structure is considered a total loss. Fire officials are still working to determine a damage estimate and cause of the fire.

New Bloomfield and South Callaway fire protection district crews assisted at the scene.

Pasley said it took more than 20 firefighters and about 40,000 gallons of water to bring the fire under control.
