Man arrested for possession of a stolen firearm in Fulton
On Jan. 29, Callaway County police made a traffic stop on a white GMC pickup truck for speeding, according to a probable cause statement. The driver of the vehicle was Izaya S. Sands.
The smell of marijuana was coming from the vehicle, and the officer asked Sands if there was anything illegal in the truck. Sands said that there wasn’t;t anything illegal in the vehicle, but that he did have a gun.
The officer ran the serial number of the Ruger SR45 semi automatic gun. and found that it was stolen out of Jefferson City. Sands said he bought the gun for $160, but the gun is valued at $569.
Sands was arrested for the possession of a stolen firearm.
