Warming Thursday, storm chance and weekend snow
TONIGHT: Skies will remain mostly clear overnight with winds becoming light under 10 mph. A southerly wind will keep temperatures warmer with lows in the low to mid 40s.
THURSDAY: Temperatures warm into the lower 70s Thursday with a chance of rain showers in the afternoon and evening, mainly near and south of I-70 from 4PM through 10PM. Isolated storms with large hail or strong wind gusts are possible. Up to a quarter inch of rain is possible.
EXTENDED: Friday will be cooler with highs in the mid 40s. A mix of sleet and snow moves in after 2 AM Friday night with a sleet/snow mix as temperatures fall to below freezing by Saturday morning. Snow is possible through Saturday morning and lasting through most of the day. It’s still too early to determine if we’ll see accumulation and how much but at this time, light accumulation looks possible. We’ll have updates in coming days as new data comes in. Sunday looks dry and cold with highs in the mid 30s. We’ll keep an eye for possible snow returning again Sunday night into Monday morning of next week as a possible clipper looks to move in by Monday morning which could cause slick roads for the morning commute.
