Columbia customers lose power during storm

UPDATE: As of 2 a.m. Tuesday, less than 100 customers are without power.

ORIGINAL: Nearly 2,000 Columbia Water & Light customers were without power after rounds of severe storms hit in mid-Missouri.

Just before midnight on Monday, Columbia Water and Light reported the following:

Customers Affected: 1988
Customers Restored: 0
Customers Out Now: 1988
Customers Called: 54
Customers Called Last Hour: 28

Crews are out working to repair the outages.

The area most heavily affected is where West Broadway turns into Scott Boulevard.
