A second round of severe weather to impact Missouri by Monday evening

Mid-Missouri is in store for a second round of severe weather for the start of the work week. Monday, we can expect light showers during the morning and afternoon hours. Into the evening hours, there still is a chance of rain, but also a chance for severe weather. A line of thunderstorms will be pushing through Missouri Monday evening ahead of a cold front.

Thunderstorms are expected to begin around 8 PM in northwestern Missouri. This line will track to the southeast, leaving behind cooler, dryer air.

These thunderstorms may be accompanied by damaging winds and hail. The greatest threat is winds greater than 58 mph. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for all of mid-Missouri.

The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather team will be tracking the severe weather throughout the morning and evening hours on Monday, keeping you up to date on air and online.
