Active weather pattern setting up for the beginning of the work week
After a week full of calm weather, mid-Missouri is in store for a change up. In addition to plummeting temperatures, we can expect to see a chance of rain and maybe even some snow for the beginning of the week.
Sunday morning, there may be a few snow flurries falling in mid-Missouri. These flurries are expected to be light with no accumulation since temperatures are going to quickly rise above freezing by the later morning hours.
Throughout the day on Sunday, there is a slight chance of rain showers. Areas off to the south will likely see a few light showers from noon to 4 PM. Sunday evening into Monday, conditions will clear, leading to a dry Monday afternoon.
Monday night into Tuesday morning is when we can expect the next chance of rain. This is due to a warm front that will be lifting in mid-Missouri. As this warm front pushes to the north, we will see temperatures rise into the mid 60s. The 60s won’t be lasting long though, due to another passing front on Wednesday, leading to even more changes of precipitation.
Wednesday, we see another chance for light snow and rain thanks to a cold front tracking through mid-Missouri. This will cause temperatures to drop back into the 50s. After the active start to the work week, the second half will remain relatively calm and mild. The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather team will continue to follow the active weather pattern keeping you up to date on air and online.
