Colder, windy Friday, snow chance

Our eight day stretch of warm weather will end Friday as a strong storm system moves across northern Missouri, sending much colder air into Mid-Missouri. Temperatures will start off in the 50s early Friday morning but will drop through the day, into the 40s by 5 PM.

It will be windy with westerly winds at 15-20 mph, gusting as high as 35 mph during the afternoon as the colder air moves in. The wind will continue near 15 mph Friday night as temperatures fall into the upper 20s by Saturday morning. This will produce wind chill readings in the teens to start the day Saturday.

As the cold air moves in Friday evening, spotty rain showers are possible from 5-7 PM, turning to light snow showers from 7 PM to midnight. Snow is not expected to accumulate due to the warm ground temperatures and above freezing temperatures
