FBI presence at Lakewood Apartments for cyber crime investigation
ABC 17 News is on scene at Lakewood Apartments in Columbia, where several unmarked cars, the FBI and one Boone County Sheriff’s car are located near Broadway and Old Hwy. 63, just east of downtown Columbia.
One person was taken into custody.
We have confirmed with Detective Tracy Perkins with the Boone County Sheriff’s Cyber Crimes Task Force that they are helping the FBI with a cyber crimes investigation. According to Detective Perkins, it is not related to the recent ISIS incident.
Bridget Patton, a spokesperson with the FBI said the agency is “executing a search warrant at that location in furtherance of an ongoing investigative matter.”
