What’s Going Around: Feb. 21, 2017

The flu shot may not be fully warding off the illness for some patients.

The doctors at Broadway Urgent Care and Mizzou Quick Cares Clinics and Urgent Care say the flu is holding strong for the third week in a row.

Dr. Tara Flynn says she thinks the flu may be at its peak.

All of the doctors say flu is what they are seeing the most right now.

Even those who have gotten the flu shot are still getting the flu, although the doctors say their case is milder. Patients aren’t having the typical flu symptoms.

With the sun out and the temperatures staying warm, the doctors say many patients are coming in with allergy symptoms like itchy, watery eyes, the sniffles and stuffy noses.

The doctors also say patients are coming down with upper respiratory illnesses and sinus infections.
