Cooper County chase suspect still on the run

UPDATE 2/21: The Cooper County Sheriffs Department have announced they are apparently looking for Sean M Griffin, 34 after a search was unsuccessful yesterday morning.

A spokesperson for the department says it started when officers were called to a trespassing incident just south of Boonville.

A male and a female were allegedly involved.

When officers arrived on scene, officers found the female suspect but not the male.

Officers became suspicious and believed the male suspect was the one that had a warrant out of Howard County.

They came to the conclusion they were looking for Griffin.

Troopers helped in the search but it was unsuccessful.

Deputies are asking if anyone sees Griffin to call the Cooper County or Howard County Sheriffs Department.

ORIGINAL: The Cooper County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol were unable to locate a wanted suspect Monday afternoon.

Sgt. Scott White, with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, said the search began around 8:20 a.m. when the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person walking on Cole Bank Road by Route T. Further information led them to believe a suspect who had fled from officers before was present.

Troopers helped Cooper County deputies establish a perimeter. A Highway Patrol helicopter also took part in the search.

At 12:40 p.m., law enforcement began to clear the area after the suspect was not found.
