Police arrest woman for attempting to steal vehicle

Columbia police arrested a woman early Monday morning after they said she tried to steal a vehicle.

Police said the victim left Arianna Hutchison in the vehicle while he went into the McDonald’s on Business Loop 70 around 12:30 a.m.

Police said Hutchison took the vehicle, which officers spotted near Business Loop 70 and Providence and tried to get the driver to stop.

Hutchison is accused of driving away from officers and committing traffic violations, including driving off the road and hitting a tree. Police said Hutchison fled on foot and was arrested at 1:15 a.m. near Clark Lane and Hanover Boulevard.
