So Far, Columbia is in the top 20 warmest Februarys

If we ended the month today, Friday February 17, we would actually make it in the top 20 warmest Februarys on record, at #17, tying with February 1987, and we have another 11 days to go. With an average temperature of 39.8, this is 7.2 degrees above normal for this month. Usually the average temperature is 32.6. We’ve had 3, 70+ days this month with more to come this weekend and possibly through Monday. Records could be tied or broken including night time mild lows.

We’ve been this warm too since 2000. February 2012 ranks at #15 warmest, with an average temperature of 39.9 , and 2000 ranks at #5 with an average temperature of 42.

The temperature outlook takes us through the 2nd of March indicating well above normal temperatures even through next weekend. The average highs next week range from 46 through 49, and average lows range from 26-29. Night time lows will be near February highs through next Friday.
