Boone County deputies taze man after disturbance at hotel near Midway
UPDATE 11:33 am: A spokesperson for the Boone County Sheriffs Department tells our crews a clerk for the Inn reported a male was attempting to enter several hotel rooms.
When deputies arrived, they heard a female screaming from an upper level room.
Deputies entered and noticed the suspect, Maurice Griffith push a woman onto a bed.
Griffith scuffeld with four deputies and was taken into custody after a taser was deployed.
Deputies located individual packages of a substance believed to be meth.
A juvenile female also said she was assaulted by Griffith before deputies arrived.
He was arrested on suspicion of Domestic Assault, Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Endagering the Welfare of a Child, and Resisting Arrest.
His bond has been set at $14,500.
Original Story: A man is in custody after Boone County deputies tazed him following a disturbance Tuesday.
It happened at the Budget Inn-Midway in the 6400 block of Highway 40 near Midway.
Deputies tell us they responded to reports of a disturbance between a man and a woman.
They aren’t releasing many details about what caused a deputy to taze the man, but say he resisted arrest.
