No one hurt in Boone County house fire
The Boone County Fire Protection District was called to a house fire Sunday afternoon in the 2500 block of East Clays Fork Road.
Boone County fire Chief Scott Olsen said embers from a barbeque pit ignited leaves next to the house. Olsen said the fire spread up the side of the house and partially inside the home through a dryer vent.
A damage estimate was not available as of 4 p.m. Sunday, but Olsen said the fire was contained to the outside of the house with some smoke damage on the inside.
A neighbor alerted one person who was inside the home at the time of the fire. The resident and a pet were able to make it out safely.
