Columbia City Council approves Kelly Farms apartment complex

The Columbia City Council on Monday night gave Kelly Farms approval to build its apartment complex at Stadium Boulevard and Highway 63.

The location, which is managed by Kelly Properties, will be made up of one- and two-bedroom units.

It’s much different than a complex with more than 800 beds geared toward students that the council previously rejected for that area.

Residents in nearby Shepard Hills also rejected that proposal, and originally opposed Kelly Farms, but said they like this plan.

The City Council agreed on different parts of the plan, but all liked how closely the Kellys worked with the neighbors.

A vote is also set tonight for the Ridgemont Park development.
