Former Jefferson City football player charged with rape after committing to Illinois State

On Jan. 29, a victim reported that former Jefferson City football player Rashaun D. Woods raped her on Jan. 28 inside of a Jefferson City residence. Woods has committed to play football at Illinois State as of Wednesday.

The victim allegedly told Woods that she didn’t want to engage in sexual activity with him, and to “stop” before, during and after the assault.

A witness said that he knew the victim and that Woods were in the room alone together and that he repeatedly heard the victim saying “stop.” The witness said that Woods did not stop until he physically pulled Woods’ arm.

On Feb. 2, another victim reported that Woods raped her on a Saturday evening during Sept. 2016 or Oct. 2016. The victim said Woods got into the back seat of the vehicle and pulled the her into the back seat and assaulted her.

According to probable cause statements, Woods has been charged with three counts of first degree rape or attempted rape and one count of first degree sodomy or attempted sodomy.

It was confirmed by the Illinois State football team’s Twitter account and a commit story from their website that Woods has committed to play football there.
