Ex-Alabama QB Jay Barker charged with domestic violence
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge. An arrest affidavit says the 49-year-old sports radio host is married to the victim, but they’ve been living separately. Barker’s wife is country music singer Sara Evans. The affidavit says Baker is accused of reversing his vehicle at a high rate of speed in an attempt to hit the victim and another person in another car. He was released from a Nashville jail Saturday night on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Barker did not answer a call from the AP seeking comment. Barker led Alabama to the national championship in 1992.
