Fire causes $20,000 in damage
ABC 17 News has confirmed a property owner suffered minor burns to his hand during a fire on Wednesday in northeast Columbia.
Flames were coming from the garage and attached outbuilding when firefighters reached the property off Mexico Gravel Road near Ballenger Lane a little after 5 p.m. They had things under control about 10 minutes later.
Officials estimate the damages will cost about $20,000. The property owner did not get treated by crews at the scene.
Investigators say the cause remains under investigation.
