Police investigate two armed robberies near Columbia mall
UPDATE: Public records indicate police took two reports of armed robbery within 20 minutes of each other Tuesday night.
The first robbery happened around 8:20 near the Target on Bernadette Drive. ABC17 News crews saw police officers and mall security on the scene at that time.
About 20 minutes later, police were investigating another armed robbery just down the street at 2005 W. Worley, near the Texas Roadhouse.
Public records indicate both armed robberies involved a knife.
Police told ABC17 News they are working on a press release about the incidents.
ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police responded to the Columbia Mall again Tuesday night after reports of a robbery.
ABC 17 News saw police officers and mall security before 9 p.m. near Target.
This is the second night in a row police have responded to the mall.
ABC 17 News reported Monday night after an attempted robbery in the JCPenney parking lot. Police said the suspect assaulted the victim with a sharp object, causing minor injuries.
