Jefferson City man accused of trafficking mentally disabled woman

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Cole County Prosecutor's Office has charged a Jefferson City man accused of trafficking a mentally disabled woman.

Michael Coon, 68, was charged Thursday with felony counts of trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation, first-degree rape or attempted rape, first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy and distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location.

According to court documents, the victim told deputies she was raped by a different man only known as "Greg" at an unknown location after Coon forced her to smoke methamphetamine on New Year's Eve.

The victim also accused Coon of making her perform a sexual act on him after he forced her to smoke meth earlier this month at his apartment. Deputies said Coon's home was located within 2,000 feet of St. Stanislaus Catholic School.

According to court documents, the 23-year-old victim has a mental capacity of an 8-year-old.

A Cole County judge is expected to arraign Coon at 10:30 a.m. Friday. He does not have a lawyer listed in online court records.
