Fire destroys a Callaway County home

Fire destroyed a house on County Road 328, just off of Route J Saturday, officials said.

The New Bloomfield Fire Protection District, Central Callaway Fire Protection District and Fulton Fire Department sent crews to the residence around 7 p.m. Fire officials said the home was fully engulfed when they arrived.

Two people were home at the time of the fire, but made it out safely.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the kitchen.

The home is considered a total loss.
