Man hospitalized after being hit by vehicle, driver reportedly left scene
A man is in fair condition Wednesday morning after he was hit by a car in Callaway County Tuesday evening.
It happened just before 6:00 Tuesday night on Route AA, just east of Outer Road 54.
A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 28-year-old David Padgett was walking eastbound on Route AA when he was hit by a car.
The report says the car that hit Padgett left the scene.
Padgett was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of moderate injuries. ABC 17 News called hospital staff Wednesday who say Padgett is now in fair condition.
It is unclear right now if law enforcement is searching for the driver responsible.
