Suspect found after manhunt in Camden County

UPDATE 1/9 8:41 a.m: Adams has been taken into custody.

ORIGINAL: The Camden County Sheriff’s Office and the Osage Beach Police Department say they’re looking for a man accused of shooting out a glass door at a home to steal a purse.

It happened just before 1:00 this morning near State Road KK and Ranch Road.

Officers apparently responded after getting reports of gunshots.

Once they arrived, officers say the discovered the subject had shot one round through a glass door, then went into the victim’s home and stole a purse from the bedroom area.

Someone was home at the time of the break-in, but authorities say no one was hurt.

Authorities say they’re looking for 24-year-old Johnathan Adams in connection with the incident.

They say he ran into a nearby wooded area once they arrived. The sheriff’s department says it has now requested additional law enforcement assets search the area.

The subject is described as a white male, approximately 6′ tall, thin build, wearing grey jean style pants, grey sweatshirt, had entered a residence by firing one round through a glass door.

The sheriff’s department says it wants parents and care givers to be aware that officers will be following the school buses to ensure that the subject does not board a bus picking up children.
