Police arrest suspect in New Year’s downtown Columbia shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police have arrested a man they suspect of shooting four people in downtown Columbia early New Year's Day.

D'Angelo R. Harris, 25, of Columbia was arrested on suspicion of four counts of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, illegal gun possession and evidence tampering, according to a police news release. Information on charges was not available Thursday afternoon in online court records.

Police did not say when or where Harris was arrested or what evidence tied him to the crime.

Officers were sent to a call of a fight at the bar Silverball on Ninth Street at about 1 a.m. Saturday, the Columbia Police Department has said. Four men suffered gunshots wounds that were not life-threatening.
