Prosecutors charge Kingdom City man after vehicle chase early on Monday morning

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Callaway County Prosecutor's Office has charged a Kingdom City man after a vehicle chase early on Monday morning.

Prosecutors charged Jared B. Evans, 33, with felony resisting arrest, two felony counts of second-degree assault on a special victim, and other crimes.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, deputies started chasing Evans around 3:24 a.m. on Monday. He is also accused of running from Fulton Police Department officers.

Deputies said Evans turned his vehicle around twice and nearly hit pursuing Callaway County deputies head-on. Evans crashed his vehicle at the intersection of County Road 209 and Tara Ridge Road after a 40-minute chase, according to the sheriff's office.

Emergency crews took Evans to a hospital in Columbia for treatment of his injuries. Deputies said Evans was later transferred to the Callaway County Jail.

According to the sheriff's office, an arrest warrant issued for Evans orders he be held in jail without bond.
